2014 – AMREP Australia is founded under the name Optimised Maintenance
AMREP Australia was established in 2014 under the name Optimised Maintenance by founders Brian and Kate Smith. With a strong background in maintenance engineering, asset performance, and project delivery, we launched with a mission to improve reliability in the mining and heavy industry sectors. Our early work focused on solving persistent maintenance issues through structured process design and practical engineering solutions.
Starting as a small, agile team, we worked closely with clients to identify root causes of underperformance and implement sustainable improvements. Our real-world experience in field operations allowed us to develop systems that were both technically sound and operationally effective. This foundation laid the groundwork for our evolution into a broader asset management consultancy.
2019 – Diversification Across Industries
By 2019, Optimised Maintenance had delivered successful outcomes across a wide range of industries. We expanded our services beyond mining to include waste management, public infrastructure, and government asset portfolios. Our team grew, and so did our capabilities in engineering governance, risk management, and project execution.

2022 – Rebranding to AMREP Australia
In 2022, we rebranded as AMREP Australia, reflecting our expanded service offering: Asset Management, Risk and Reliability Engineering, and Project Management. The name AMREP aligns with our commitment to ISO 55000 asset management standards and our focus on delivering structured, risk-informed, and performance-driven outcomes.
The rebrand signified a strategic shift, positioning us as a national leader in engineering consultancy and asset lifecycle optimisation. We formalised our internal frameworks, ensuring consistency and scalability across all projects.
